We are delighted that you have chosen to study at NCI. We provide assistance to international students before they travel, mainly through our library of "How To" Guides and webinars.
The International team in NCI provide a range of Pre-Departure meetings. These will allow you to meet new students, get some useful information ahead of your journey and ask any questions you may have. They take place both in person and online webinars, so contact the office or one of our Regional Managers to find out which meeting suits you best. The details for all Pre-Departure meetings are updated in the Meet Us section.
The things you need to start preparing as soon as you confirm your place are:
Get your medical insurance
All international students need medical insurance. Study and Protect Insurance offers insurance for NCI students from as little as €120. You can choose to buy insurance through another company but please ensure that it provides you with adequate cover for your time in Ireland. Please note that NCI will not arrange medical insurance for you.
If you need an entry visa to Ireland, you should begin your application as soon as possible. Depending on your nationality, where you are living and where the visa is processed, it can take up to three months to process a visa application. Unfortunately, due to the wide range of countries and the high demand for NCI, we are unable to provide visa support to students. We work with a range of excellent agents who can support you with your visa application. Please visit our country pages and select your country to find out more about agents in your area.
Book your flights
As soon as you receive your visa, you should look to book your flights. We recommend using an online booking tool, such as Skyscanner, as this will give you the most options and best value.
Tell us! Complete the arrival form and book your Airport Pick Up Service
After booking your flight you must inform NCI when you will arrive by completing the International Student Arrival Form.
You should email your arrival form to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 5 working days before you are due to travel to Ireland.
If you use the Arrival Form to request an Airport Pick Up, NCI will then email you to confirm the driver name, contact number and driver’s picture, so you have it when you arrive in Dublin.
